About Me
Shari Simpson is a screenwriter, author, teacher, and public speaker. She also excels at talking about herself in the third person, so here goes:
Shari currently has a feature script, FOREVER LOST, penned with her longtime writing partner, Charlie Shahnaian, in development for Broken Road Productions. Shari and Charlie's film COLOR MY WORLD WITH LOVE premiered on the Hallmark Channel in June 2022 and they're writing the upcoming Hallmark film, PRETTY SIDE OF THE FACE, the true story of a mother's harrowing journey of forgiveness after her son is killed by a drunk driver. Shari and Charlie's one-hour drama, HOPETOWN, is also in development with Vast Entertainment and Al Roker Entertainment, and their animated series, MAISIE J, is currently in development with YouTube, Wind Dancer Films and Highlights Magazine. Shari’s first feature film for The Disney Channel was THE SWAP, which premiered in fall 2016 to 3.1 million total viewers, making it the top kids cable telecast for the third quarter of that year.
Shari’s middle-grade fantasy novel, SAM SAVES THE NIGHT was published by Disney Hyperion Books and she is currently working on a chapter book series, SUGAR RUSH RACERS, for publication in 2023. She lives in Hoboken, New Jersey, with a handsome husband, two marvelous teenagers, a cat, and… the pug. Who gets her own bio.
Mila Kunis is a pug. She is adorable and cuddly and sweet, and will eat the food right out of your mouth if you’re not paying attention. She hates the cat and is convinced that he is the spawn of Satan. She’s kinda right.
